Regretably due to the fact the hotel is to close soon this group has been wound up and will
not be holding any further meetings. RIP Edelweiss Belles
This friendly twice-yearly meeting had been in existence for over 25 years, and for most of that time
has used the same hotel. The meetings usually took place during April and October. The hotel was a
Victorian style building (built as a school in the 1870’s) and stood in its own secluded grounds, with
plenty of car parking space at the end and was shielded from public gaze. All rooms were ‘en-suite’
and had tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel staff were friendly and the meals well cooked and
presented.
This venue was ideal for those who lacked confidence in going out and welcomed your partner along
with you. Dress was not too extreme as families could of been present at the hotel. This was not a
pick-up or swingers venue and the rule of thumb was dress too impress, not to shock!
If you wished to go out in public enfemme, it was quite safe and the good people of Colwyn Bay would
make you very welcome. I went shopping in Rhyl and Colwyn and had a marvellous time. Colwyn Bay
is close to most of the North Wales resorts with Bodnant Gardens, Portmerion, Betws-y-Coed and
Blaenau Ffestiniog to name but a few only a short drive away. There was also direct access from a
footpath at the back of the hotel to the sea front which made a very pleasant walk on good days. On
the other hand, you could stay around the hotel and its grounds which were spacious and ideal for
photography. Sometimes there were some trade stands during the weekend. On the Friday evening
there was a quiz competition which was free to enter. On the Saturday after the dinner there was a
prize draw. On both nights there was some form of entertainment (a singer or disco etc.) with dancing
on both nights. The bar stayed open till all hours for residents of the hotel.

Yes the wind was blowing that day but
it was still quite mild.

during the weekend.
